mozilla download manager

Is there a way to attach the mozilla download manager to internet
explorer and also firefox?

I would let me put all my downloads in one place.

Also is there a way to change the download location to something other
than the "Desktop"?

That is where all my downloads go and I have to drag then to my
designated spot

I know that there is probably some didling with the registry but I have
not a clue on what it would be.

This would be a useful feature for every one because M$ requires
everyone to download fixes fron their site with Internet Explorer,
unless you're getting auto downloads
