Identical STMP server addresses causes confusion in thunderbird...

I am currently using multiple accounts under my email host, each of 
these all use the same server name but separate usernames for smtp.

The problem is when setting an outgoing server, the name shows up as the 
  address of the server, in this case mine are all the same and I can 
only guess that I am getting the right one. I do this by assuming that 
the order in the drop down box is the same order as the "Advanced 
Outgoing Server (SMTP) Settings" dialog.


Is there a reason why outgoing SMTP servers are all set separately? 
Wouldn't having per account SMTP settings much easier?
