Hello

Since the automatic Updates never functioned, at least under Linux
because of insufficient rights that is no problem anyways. As long
as you are not using the Repositories of the Distribution.

Enigmail is available for:

* Interlink ( https://binaryoutcast.com/projects/interlink/ ), a
community-driven product.

Interlink is also maintained, but I'm not sure how actively and
things like security fixes.

Okay thanks for that earlier clarification Patrick :)

Just to be clear, it doesn't matter what I do (allow or disable
automatic updates). There will be no more support for enigmail in the
future at all?

As already mentioned several times, I'll continue to support and
maintain Enigmail 2.1.x for Thunderbird 68 for at least 6 months after
the availability of Thunderbird 78. I might extend this for a few more
months, but not more.

At this point, to continue using enigmail, I've frozen the updates on
my workstations.

As long as TB 78.2 is not released, there is no need to disable updates.
Otherwise you'll miss security and stability updated for TB 68.

The latest update to Interlink is a/o 07 June, so three-ish weeks,
and twice the previous month. It has Linux support but there is no
SlackBuild package for Slackware, although that's trivial considering
they have tarballs for GTK 2&3 at the dev's website.

I suppose it would be okay to move forward with OpenPGP in
Thunderbird, but I've been using Enigmail for so long I just feel like
I would be missing some kewl features that I've come to depend on.

Maybe some folks on this list could chime in on that last concern of mine?

In TB 78, the feature set will certainly be smaller than in Enigmail.
But you I expect that future versions of Thunderbird will add more
features to OpenPGP.
