I don't think it's that, I think they just don't want to hear about the
"opposite" side. Lots of conservatives don't' want to listen to
liberals, and lots of liberal don't want to listen to conservatives.
And because of the news media reporting, you generally just hear the
more extreme views if each side.
That is the death knell of any democratic style country.
