Summer research internships available at HP Labs Palo Alto!

The Information Dynamics Lab at HP Labs has people studying social networks,
distributed knowledge, online communities, collaboration, distributed
computing, economic mechanisms, and game theory. Our researchers bring
perspectives from fields like computer science, physics, economics, HCI, and
linguistics to explore how networks become more than the sum of their parts.

About IDL: http://www.hpl.hp.com/research/idl/

We have openings for a summer intern in our Palo Alto office, just across
the street from Stanford.

We’re interested in deploying novel mechanisms for harvesting knowledge and
presenting it to users in interesting ways. One way we’re looking at is
through people’s Web browsers.

Required: Technical track (CS, engineering, math, physical science, etc.);
interest in online culture and digital media; software development
experience

Preferred: Deep familiarity and opinions on web and mobile interfaces;
familiarity with key Web technologies (AJAX, RSS, XHTML, etc.); experience
with JavaScript, XUL, C#, and/or Firefox or IE extension development;
user-centered design sense.

Questions? Contact Bernardo Huberman ([email protected])

How to apply: Send your resume/CV (and any relevant papers/project writeups)
