Hi Localizers, As the subject of this email anticipates, we plan to shut down the webdashboard[1] by next week, on April 23. This change is part of a larger effort to rationalize the way localization works at Mozilla, to make it more scalable and less confusing, especially for new contributors. It’s also the first step towards the obsolescence for the .LANG file format, a custom format that has served us well in the past years, but also has known shortcomings. Mozilla.org is the primary user of this format, and we’re currently discussing with the team about possible alternatives to the current localization infrastructure. Pontoon should be able to cover all needs currently served by the webdashboard: - All locales can be enabled in Pontoon for the projects currently covered by webdashboard. - It supports deadline and priority for individual files. - It supports notifications, although we hope to be able to make them more discoverable in the future. In the meantime, it’s strongly suggested to use the Pontoon Tools add-on to get better visibility https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/pontoon-tools/ Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
