Well this is why I ask. As HJ pointed out, he had a page with a counter
and it did not update.
However you said "get a complicated page" and that got me thinking, so I
"speculated."
The reasons I mention this is I was moving (not copying) a bunch of
pages/tabs and sometimes I saw it, and sometimes I did not.
So while typing this I thought "lets check" I have my "My Ebay" open
with about 25 items listed. So I moved it.
It re-rendered, obvious due to the time it took, that it sais
"reloading" and since its a bunch of nested tables, it took 4-5 seconds.
And, it *reloaded* because the times were accurate. They should have
been hours off.
Then I noticed, I think I copied not reloaded.
So I tried again. If I copy (DND mouse) it reloads now.
If I swap or move (ALT or CTRL) it does not.
And here is where I speculate, as I do not have the full time to test:
The page may have have *reloaded* because it timed out. I have to
speculate since there is not meta refresh or expire in the source, but
it loads a bunch of java script in the head I have not checked.
So the steps:
1. Get an ebay account (free)
2. Select about 20 items to watch with different times. The times
are clear.
3. Open all the items in tabs (gives you enough times).
4. Go answer annoying email from people like me
5. After a *period* of time copy/swap/move the tab that has "my
ebay" in it and see if the times changed.
Keep increasing period as you redo the test, I will keep sending email
if necessary :)
Please someone other than HJ verify this.
I will try to build pages that help debug this later. Currently I have
to go win an auction :)
