What version of MultiZilla are you using?  With MZ 1.5.0.2e on Win2K 
(with Moz build 2003-10-10-04) this WFM.

You can disable MZ in newer builds using the Quickprefs -> Extension 
Management menu item.  However, to then get MZ back you have to put 
the following chrome URL in the location bar: 
chrome://multiviews/content/reEnableMultiZilla.xul
