Every once in a while, a serious security issue is discovered, and we security guys try to fix it as soon as possible. The press and/or word of mouth spreads the news about the need to upgrade. I have the strong opinion, that in this particular scenario, a sedating statement "Firefox is up to date" is counterproductive, because it stops people from comparing the announced version number with the one they are running.
