If automatic updates are on in the user's UI, then they wouldn't still 
be on 3.6, would they?  In discussions about trying to get everyone on 
the current release, that option DID come up.  I hope it was more in the 
realm of 'wishing it were feasible', than 'thinking it is feasible'. 
There are a LOT of things I would like to do, but wanting to stay free 
for my remaining years prevents that.  I hope no one seriously proposes 
this route.  It would be nice to get everyone on the current version, 
but I think anyone who is realistic understands it is a dream.
