I might want to know if there are updates and even download them.  I can
even do that while also doing something else on my computer.

When it comes to installing, however, I generally want to cease all
other activity.  I especially do not want to be doing anything with the
application that is being updated (e.g., I do not want to be viewing
this newsgroup while updating Thunderbird).  Thus, the actual update, I
need to delay that until it is convenient.

On occasion, I might filter and ignore all newsgroup messages
posted through GoogleGroups via Google's G2/1.0 user agent
because of spam from that source.
