When it comes to installing, however, I generally want to cease all other activity. I especially do not want to be doing anything with the application that is being updated (e.g., I do not want to be viewing this newsgroup while updating Thunderbird). Thus, the actual update, I need to delay that until it is convenient. -- David E.
