A post on m.s.firefox indicated that mozilla.oerg is not as intuitively 
navigable as perhaps thought. As I hadn't visited the site in some time, 
I went to see for myself. The poster was right: it's not obvious how to 
find the information he wanted. A response to his PPFH gave him the URL, 
but the info was three levels down. This is too deep for a newbie to the 
site, especially since there's no "More information here" button. True, 
there are bare icons, but it's not obvious they will lead to more 
information, since they appear below the "Get ...." box, which means 
that many visitors will assume all they'll get is the "Get..." box for 
the other product.

People do need explicit guidance. I suggest the site be given a thorough 
rethink, starting with "If I were utterly new to Firefox/Thunderbird, 
what would I want the first encounter to tell me?"

My suggestion: Put two "Get..." boxes up, and inside each add a "More 
information here" button.

Or offer the newbies visitor a highlighted entry point: "Newcomers click 
here".

Or something like that.

PS: In another response, the poster objected that a "targeted" version 
of the page comes up, which makes it difficult to find info about other 
platforms or other products (I was presented with the "Get Thunderbird" 
box presumably because I haven't yet updated to TB8). I agree with that 
poster's objections.
