Floating Sidebar

I like using the AiOS extension for placing most things in the side-bar. This allows for nearly everything to be available by simply moving the mouse to a specific spot. There's one problem however: when the side-bar opens it resizes the main frame ... thus rearranging the HTML page. The owner of AiOS knows of this and seems to be unable to fix this. Apparently it's due to the limitations of FF's internals which do not allow the sidebar to be undocked. Is there any way of trying to fix this?
