Would it be useful to add a command-line option to dvdauthor to delete
the contents of the output directory if it exists?
Naturally this would be done safely, using the same logic as the
dvddirdel script—only delete files that look like part of a DVD-Video
directory structure, nothing else. (I’ve been burned by more general
directory-deletion functions myself :).)
Perhaps add a “-O” option which specifies the output directory like
“-o”, but also overwrites its contents, e.g.
dvdauthor -o dir -x ctlfile
appends to any existing contents of dir, whereas
dvdauthor -O dir -x ctlfile
would start dir afresh.
