All the subpicture streams? Am I supposed to mux more than one stream in order to get a menu? And 
how will they be selected?

Anyway, i tried this:

    <titleset>
       <menus lang="it">
          <video ... />
          <audio ... />
          <subpicture lang="it">
              <stream mode="letterbox" id="0" />
          </subpicture>
          <pgc ...

and it didn't work, menu appeared as before. Also, using "widescreen" in place of "letterbox" didn't 
help.

Mmmhh, I have a question.
If this is the right "official" way to obtain the perfect mapping of png over menu, dvdunauthor 
should detect it and write it down into its `dvdauthor.xml', shouldn't it?
At that point, one could just learn from "official" commercial authored dvds...
