and it does not mention it supports the old Athlon64 (Unicore)

It is in the K8 family, and not 10 or 11.

you use a new software called TurionPowerControl
created by a member of the forum of the great website Phoronix .
It looks promised because you can overclocked or underclocked
your processor (Only AMD k8 and k10 series) without a lot of
efforts. It could be the easy solution for you. (i have given
the link and normally they appear in blue)

I hope that will resolve your problem because if my computer was
putting 14/16 just for create a DVD, i transform him in a
..................;Plane in................... 5 minutes.
