Dieter,

I can’t claim to understand your issue, and my German isn’t terribly strong. However, one thing I noticed in this call:

blaas@ubuntu:~$ gphoto2 --storage-info
[Storage 0]
basedir=/
access=0 Lesen/Schreiben
type=4 Entfernbarer RAM
fstype=4 Kamera Struktur (DCIM)

If you recall, I mentioned in my private message to you that attempting to shoot to camera RAM can cause problems, and it would appear that your camera is indeed currently configured to shoot to RAM (if I’m reading this output correctly, that is).

I think it’s also possible that some of the latter errors are caused by lockup from the earlier failed commands. So if I were in your shoes, I think the last thing I would try is this:

Disconnect your camera from the computer
Power off the camera
Remove the battery from the camera
Re-insert the battery
Re-connect the camera to the computer
Run the command gphoto2 --config
Navigate to the menu where you determine the shooting target and change it from “Internal RAM” to “Memory Card”
Exit the menu (esc)
Run gphoto2 --trigger-capture

See if that allows you to shoot and save to the memory card. If it does, that’s at least progress! Otherwise, I’m afraid I don’t know enough about gphoto nor your camera to have any other ideas, but given you’ve had issues with this model in the past I would say your idea of getting a newer camera is probably a good bet.
