Hello, I have a Nikon J5 that I'm trying to control from my Ubuntu desktop. gphoto2 recognizes it: *$ gphoto2 --auto-detect* Model Port ---------------------------------------------------------- Nikon J5 usb:003,006 Now, I want to trigger video capture from my desktop, but I don't seem to be able to. Here are the commands I've tried and the error messages I got: *$ gphoto2 --set-config movie=1* *** Error *** The movie widget is not configurable. *** Error (-2: 'Bad parameters') *** For debugging messages, please use the --debug option. Debugging messages may help finding a solution to your problem. If you intend to send any error or debug messages to the gphoto developer mailing list <[email protected]>, please run gphoto2 as follows: env LANG=C gphoto2 --debug --debug-logfile=my-logfile.txt --set-config movie=1 Please make sure there is sufficient quoting around the arguments. *$ gphoto2 --capture-movie* Capturing preview frames as movie to 'movie.mjpg'. Press Ctrl-C to abort. ERROR: Movie capture error... Exiting. Movie capture finished (0 frames) I'm wondering if movie capture is simply not supported for this camera, as it doesn't show up in Capture choices: *$ gphoto2 --abilities* Abilities for camera : Nikon J5 Serial port support : no USB support : yes Capture choices : : Image Configuration support : yes Delete selected files on camera : yes Delete all files on camera : no File preview (thumbnail) support : yes File upload support : yes So does movie capture trigger not work for Nikon J5? Are there any workarounds? I would really appreciate any help :) -- Sent from: http://gphoto-software.10949.n7.nabble.com/gphoto-user-f3.html
