The supported camera list is at
http://gphoto.org/proj/libgphoto2/support.php, I'm not sure about that
model.

Of course, just go to https://sourceforge.net/projects/gphoto/files/
and grab a tarball.

20-30 seconds sounds long but it will depend among other things on the
size of the image and your USB connection.  I was able to get several
viewfinder images per second.  For the fastest speed use libgphoto2
and write something yourself in C.  There are example programs
scattered around.
