freedb isn't working after FC3 install

I did a fresh install of FC3 and can't seem to get the CD lookup from 
freedb.org to work.  I have another linux box with FC2 and grip version 
3.0.7 and it works fine.  I've configured the proxy and DiscDB sections of 
grip (version 3.2.0) on the new box the exact same as the old box but the 
new one doesn't work.  Any ideas?  Thanks.
