wav encoding (2)

Hi

I've been using grip for some months now. I do the occasional rip to ogg and 
mp3 and it performs well & is easy to use. I'm happy with it.

Today I wanted to encode some old wav files that I had on my hard disk, so I 
sought a function in grip. Couldn't find it. It should be there, I thought, 
so I perused help, faq, google and mailing list. After an hour or so I came 
across the discussion in the mailing list 'wav encoding', initiated by 
groundzero, from may 2004. At last I understood it's just not there! Well, it 
would have saved me time if the help or faq just stated that encoding from 
other media than cd is not possible. My suggestion is to put it in the faq. 
It's short enough. And while you are at it, suggest some other program such 
as bladeenc, Xingmp3 or Fraunhofer.

Or even better, make it a function in grip to encode from files on 
non-removable media. The hard work has already been done, only the interface 
is lacking. But it's of course up to the author to decide.

As it is, I've downloaded bladeenc which does the job also. I only wish it 
wouldn't have cost me hours to find out.
