freedb lookups failing

I've used grip on and off for years and it's always worked fine for me.
Unfortunatly I tried to rip some cds today with the latest stable version
of grip. (3.2.0) and noticed that it no longer is able to do lookups anymore.

I'm using freedb.org and am doing the lookups through an http proxy. I've
checked and rechecked the configuration and all looks like it should work.
The proxy server I'm using is squid.

Has anyone else run into this problem? If so how did you resolve this?
