Hi Guys,

I looked around the net for Helix discussion forums but couldn't find any. Finally hit up on this developer discussion mailing list. Pardon me if this isn't the right place to discuss this.

I have a question about streaming (RTSP) playback support in Helix on Symbian. From my debugging, I see that after the playback of a streamed clip is complete (say a 3gp file is streamed with the url path specified in a .ram file), the protocol libraries are destroyed. Next even if the same clip is played again (RE-Play), it is treated entirely as a new PLAY request and a new network source object is initiated and so on....
What's the reason for doing this? Wouldn't it be possible to maintain the required state until a different clip is requested to be played. That would probably reduce the start up time a lot. Please comment.

Thanks
Rohit
