Summary: producer fails to read AC3 w VSFilter installed
Severity: S3
Status: NEW
Last changed date: 2005-01-10 14:50:03
Hardware: x86
Version: unspecified
Tracker: File Input
Project: helix-producer
Target Milestone: Beta
When VSFilter, an auto-loading DirectShow for sub-titles, is registered,
producer fails to read AC3 files via the multiple input mechanism with the
following errors:
> Diagnostic: Subtype MEDIASUBTYPE_DOLBY_AC3
> Diagnostic: Failed to set string: filename
> Diagnostic: Failed to set property: filename
> Diagnostic: Failed to load file for rn-avfile-directshow!
VSFilter + example jobfile is available from
\\Klillevold2\public\bugs\producer_vsfilter_ac3
The author of VSFilter will modify VSFilter to not load when producer.exe is on the
command line, and that will most likely render this specific bug obsolete, but
without knowing the cause of the producer failure, it could potentially
occur with other DirectShow filters as well.
Copy of e-mail thread with VSFilter author:
Well, these error messages don't help much :) But if you tell me the
possible names for the producer executable I can make it not load when the
command line contains it. It is already done for explorer and a few other
programs using dshow but not for playback.
