Hi Maruthi, I heard back from our developer on the question you asked and have some new information for you: "If all they need is code for parsing/reading WMA files, then that code was completely written by me and thus is covered by regular RPSL/RCSL/GPL tri-licensing. For that, they don't need any agreement with Microsoft. Only for licensing the Helix WM *decoding* will they need a special agreement with MS. The WMA/WMV fileformat plugin can be found at dataype/wm/fileformat and is located in public code and not in restricted code, so any Helix community user can get to it." I think that should help you. Good luck Scott _____ From: Maruthi B [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, December 13, 2007 6:46 AM To: [email protected] Cc: [email protected] Subject: RE: [Open-licensing] WMA Decoder , WM RTSP access request Hi Scott, Thanks for your reply. We need the Helix WM Technology for reading / parsing the WMA files. We will NOT use it for decoding the WMA files. So do we still need a Microsoft WM Interim Product Agreement ?
