[Open-discuss] ACTION: Call for Features for next-gen Helix DNA Client

Key participants of the Helix DNA Client,

As you know, we are close to declaring "Atlas" (Helix DNA Client 
V3.0) stable, and are now officially starting the planning process 
for the next gen Helix DNA Client.  We have outlined a process and 
very tight schedule below that will require your much valued input 
and cooperation..  The first step of the multi step process (outlined 
below) is to hear directly from you.

YOUR ACTION: Please:
     i) take 100 points and allocate them over one or more features 
that you would like to see in the next revision of the 
platform.  (eg  40 points on X datatype support, 30 points on Y 
transport protocol, 30 points feature Z) and
     ii) email your points allocation to 
rmathew<mailto:[email protected]>@real.com by Oct 1st at 9pm PDT.

Please do NOT copy the entire mailing list(s), but instead send the 
email directly to me, to keep the list traffic down and not to bias 
your colleagues.

Step 1:
Call for Feature Request (what you want in the platform) - Sept 25 
(this very email)

Milestone 1: Cut off date for Feature Request submission - Oct 1st at 9pm PDT.

Step 2:
Discussion of Feature requests submissions - Oct 2nd - Oct 13th.
(This discussion will also be an agenda-item during the Helix Client 
Summit allowing for F2F discussions)

Milestone 2: Announcement of phase 1 Plan of Record (Real's 
contribution to next gen client) - Oct 16th.

Step 3:
Call for Feature Proposals (want you will contribute to the product 
-- Eng, QA, Doc, etc. ) - Oct 16.

Milestone 3: Cut off date for Feature Proposal submission - Oct 27 at 9pm PDT.

Step 4:
Discussion of Feature Proposal submissions - Oct 30 - Nov 3rd.

Milestone 4: Announcement of the official Feature/resources/schedule 
of the next gen Helix DNA Client/Kickoff - Nov 6th.
