This means we can use and extend libptp2 with no risk, as long as we don't 
use any code from Microsofts porting kit, fair enough. Stand-alone 
implementation is better anyway.

The Microsoft license is so restrictive that it does not allow you to 
release your resulting code under the BSD license (which libnjb uses). It 
must follow that license and is just as "viral" as MS claim GPL to be. You 
can link BSD code to MS code but the result would be a least common 
denominatore meaning MS terms apply.
