I haven't thought about this - for now I was just going to do as libnjb does. But there is some thing called 'OS Descriptor Info' mentioned in the mtp porting kit which may do this. Haven't looked at it, just that the licence expressly forbids using this on any non- MS OS! So maybe we'll have to stick to the old way...
