the former ... damn! i was sure it used to play through the speakers? 
well, you're right though ... plugged in the earbuds to my zen touch 
when i pressed 'play' in gnomad, and sure enough there was sound ;)

that's a bummer ... i so much want to be able to use my zen touch like 
one would be able to use an ipod - by browsing the songs in a player 
such as banshee or rhythmbox and playing the songs from there, rather 
than controlling playback of the zen from the computer ...

i'm no coder, but would it be hard for another project such as rhythmbox 
or banshee to incorporate a setup like njstream that allows the user to 
play songs from the device within their media player without having to 
download them first?
