I think some of the other projects have this as their goal. I also noticed 
that the newer creative programs (MediaCenter) does this too and simply 
does not make use of the built-in playback interface of the jukebox.

Its a bit hard for libnjb to support such things, it is just intended as a 
machine interface, but any client program can implement it.

Not very hard at all. I think Davids njbstack for GNOME can be used from 
inside Rhythmbox, though I haven't had time to test it.
