<p>There is a PERL parser for matroska files now, made by a user called Omion
on Hydrogenaudio.org. I dont expect that many people will download this
in its current phase ( alpha ), so he may forgive me that i am not uploading
it to our server now, but just post a <a href="http://people.ucsc.edu/%7Erswilson/other/MatroskaParser.pm">link</a>
to it here. You can find some background about the parser on Hydrogenaudio
     in this <a href="http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=24288&hl=">thread</a>.<br>
Another very interesting tool was released from our old and dear friend
Christophe 'Toff' Paris, shortly before he went to another town to start
his new job here. The tool is very useful, its called <a href="http://www.matroska.org/%7Etoff/MatroskaDiag.exe">MatroskaDiag.exe</a>
and will analyze matroska files and then check your PC if you have all the
right filters installed to play it with a DirectShow based player like Windows
Mediaplayer, or more preferably <a href="http://www.inmatrix.com">Zoomplayer</a>
or <a href="http://corecoded.com">TCMP</a>. For interested developers, here
     are the <a href="http://www.matroska.org/%7Etoff/MatroskaDiag_20041001_src.rar">sources</a>.
<strong>Toff</strong>, from the whole matroska team, all the best for your
new job and your new life. We hope you will always be our friend, as we
are very proud to be yours.<br>
     Other news :<br>
     - <a href="http://shounen.ru/soft/avinfo/desc_en.shtml">AvInfo</a> and <a href="http://www.headbands.com/gspot/">Gspot</a>
have support for MKV files now. Both are video info tools, similar to <a href="http://www.katarncorp.com/">VideoInspector</a>
     and <a href="http://mediainfo.sf.net/">MediaInfo</a>. I couldn't test the
two new tools still, but knowing the authors and the quality of their tools
when i was using them for AVI files, i expect they did a good job.<br>
     - Mosu has released the very latest version of Mkvtoolnix, 0.9.6 . More
     about it<a href="https://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/"> here</a>.
