Linus on DRM: wise decision

Hi everyone, I'm sure most of you already heard the news but Linus doesn't want the Linux kernel to move to GPL v3. The main reason is that GPL v3 says that the covered code can't be used in anything that includes Digital Rights Management. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/01/26/linux_torvalds_gpl/ Of course, this is not really an issue, because it's almost (I still have to find a solution) to do DRM with Open Source. And actually the DRM, to work, needs the help of the OS to ensure "privacy" at all levels. So any GPL code (that has to be public, even v2) can hardly protect the content from the user, since you can always add a backdoor at any level... So in short, the DRM statement in the GPLv3 is ridiculous because GPL will never used for (actual) DRM programs.
