Nop Toby, they are different projects. They may merge but I'm not sure. (there was a confusion of mailing lists use but that's another problem) Right now it seems that GStreamer *may* be the media API we're looking for. We just need to investigate in that way. And if it's close enough but not good enough we can extend it, modify it, fork it. But we need to have a deep look first. Starting a new *large* project from scratch is a long and painful task. Especially when you have everyone saying you're doing something that already exists.
