Some algorithms are patented, but AQuA has no royal tee fees and the approach itself is not patented. Anybody can do that optimization even with AQuA evaluation, which is delivered with batch scripts on request. OGG was used as the file format, sorry if that was a mistake. Of course OGG format belongs to Vorbis. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nikos Chantziaras" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, August 27, 2011 9:16 PM Subject: Re: [Vorbis] OGG compression optimization > On 08/27/2011 07:34 PM, Sevana Oy wrote: >> Hi, >> We have worked out an approach to optimize audio compression for OGG >> files achieving best or pre-defined quality and best compression ratio. >> If there is interest in this please consider reading this blog post: >> http://blog.sevana.fi/optimize-bitrate-and-size-preserving-high-audio-quality-in-tracks-podcasts-tunes-with-aqua-wideband/ > > Well, it says that the method is patented, so that means it can't be used. > > Btw, it's "Vorbis", not "OGG". > > _______________________________________________ > Vorbis mailing list > [email protected] > http://lists.xiph.org/mailman/listinfo/vorbis
