We run Video Conferencing using IP (& H323) over an internal network. Occasionally we need to conference with another site over the internet. The question of H323 security over the internet has been raised. One option we need to explore is the encryption of the H323 traffic. Other options under review include VPN / private circuit. If there are other alternatives, interested in hearing. Internet "problems" (latency / QoS) do not appear to be an issue. Is anyone doing H323 encryption or tested and decided not to? Interested in thoughts of it and any downsides. Latency (due to the encryption / decryption process) is one we are aware of (just not the impact). Are there any others?
