playlist hooks for plugins?

Do there exist any hooks for playlist events in XMMS available to plugins to
detect conditions like "next track" events?

I ask because I am writing an adaptive shuffle mode plugin that takes
preferences into account when choosing tracks (I know one exists, but I was
bored and I want a plugin, not a patch). I'm accomplishing it now by polling
for status changes and completely breaking every other track selection method
:).

I'd like to do this in a more usable manner, but I don't see any methods in
there for doing it.

Any thoughts on this?
