Long Data in File Tags

Hello,
     I've been a loyal user of xmms since over a year ago when I switched my 
main computer to Linux from Windows. I've noticed something about xmms that 
bothers me though. Although it supports long (over 30 chars) song titles, 
artist names, album titles, etc. when it's reading and displaying them, it 
doesn't seem to be willing to WRITE them. I know ID3V1 doesn't support them, 
but shouldn't xmms just truncate them when writing the ID3V1 and write the 
whole thing in the ID3V2? Right now the tag editing GUI doesn't even allow 
the input of anything past 30 characters.
     Also, is there any plan for support of extra ID3V2 data? Back when I used 
to use Musicmatch Jukebox (http://www.musicmatch.com/) in Windows, I loved 
having extra info like paragraph-style comments, lyrics, artist website, 
album cover picture... okay, I'll quit while I'm ahead. Nevermind the 
pictures. *grin*
