odd XMMS behaviour on Solaris

I've built XMMS and all its dependencies (GTK, ogg etc.) with Forte on Solaris 
9 (IA), and for some reason about 50% of my mp3s now start playing somewhere 
near the middle of the track. Other mp3s are fine, as are all my oggs, so 
presumably the problem's in the mp3 input plugin.

I don't know if anyone will care about this bug, as I don't imagine Forte is a 
supported compiler, but I still hope someone smarter than me can fix it, or 
at least suggest to me where I might start looking for the problem.
