Manager for Visualization Plugins

dear all,

could anyone inform me if there is any sort of
advanced control for visualization plugins? the only
way I know for changing from plugin_1 to plugin_2 is
by CTRL-V and selecting the next plugin from the list.
what I'm looking for is a way to bind plugin_1 to,
say, F1, plugin_2 to F2, and so on, so I can change
plugins without interrupting the flow of images; as
well as means to control general properties of plugins
(full-window; maybe a choice of transitions...). Much
in the way of Winamp Advanced Visualization Studio (I
think that's what it does, anyway).
