Estimation of duration for VBR MP3's out of whack?

I notice that, when I load songs into my playlist, some songs I know are 
around 4-5 minutes are listed as having 20-40 minutes or more. You start 
playing them and the duration slowly descends to normal. The songs play OK.

This is in the CVS version. I distinctly remember the estimates to be 
much better in previous versions (it would be off by 10% or so). Did 
something change in this calculation recently?
