MySQL Connector

Good Day;

I downloaded the MySQL connector today and attempted to load the 
extension.  Instructions state that once downloaded (unzipped), I am to 
add the .oxt file as a new extension.  The .oxt file is nowhere to be 
found.  Is there any other method to install the extension??
