Ok tell me how to fix this? You are saying that it is related to using or installing openoffice?
Well show me how to install openoffice so that it loads under 10 seconds on a pentium 200 with 64mb of ram. Ok even if we have to use 128mb of ram on say a p2 350 we still don't get a loading time that is under a minute on a linux box. If we Quick start it then the performance increases but it is still very slow to load. Yet we do this on a windows box we find a much improved load time.

I am using versions 1.1.2, 1.1.3 and 1.1.4. I have tried openoffice 2.0 Beta though don't think that it was recent (are there improvements related to my problem) I will load one up. 

I have tried many different linux versions to address this problem. The 
best is a server install of ubuntu trimmed off with a lightweight 
display manager. I have to write my own quicklaunch application to use 
the quick start option. Believe it or not openoffice actually works 
quite well on the above systems, it just takes a few years to load.
