I just began using it recently. I wanted to talk in private with a friend, 
and that means using OTR encryption. And OTR encryption requires IM. And I 
was not about to suggest to her that she get an AIM account. So we went 
for Jabber.

I'd be happy to show you around. I think Gaim does Jabber well enough. And 
it comes with Mandrake too. :-)
