en->de: notifications || Nachrichten && Benachrichtigungen

Hello all!

I believe the german translation 'Nachrichten' for 'notifications' isn't
correct or at least slightly misleading. We have been using 'Mitteilung'
in similar contexts, which weren't ok to me either:
'Follow up notification' => 'Mitteilung bei Nachfragen'

http://dict.leo.org/ (gorgeous, in case you didn't know it) knows these
translations for the singular, 'notification':
Ankündigung
Anmeldung
Anzeige
Avis
Bekanntgabe
Bekanntmachung
Benachrichtigung
Bescheid (Behörde, Amt)
Meldung
Mitteilung
Notifikation
Notifizierung
schriftliche Benachrichtigung
Zustellung

What do you think of translating 'notifications' with

Die Jungs müssen mich in der Kabine falsch verstanden haben. Ich habe
