As far as I understand it https://www.cups.org/str.php?L4430
and the other issue reports around it are about whether or not
the backend's output should be compressed.

Currently I cannot imagine how compressing the backend's output
could fix when the backend does not send multiple raw files.
Perhaps also compressing the backend's output adds a filter
so that it is no longer real "raw" (i.e. unfiltered) printing?

Furthermore - as far as I understand it - printing via cups-pdf
or boomaga create PDFs as output so that this is never ever
"raw" (i.e. unfiltered) printing.
