Director, Platform Engineering - USB - C++ - Firmware - Embedded
Location:  Laguna Niguel, CA
Salary Range:  $130,000 - $160,000

What you need for this position:
=95 10+ years C/C++, ffirmware, or Software development experience in embed=
ded and/or PC systems
=95 5+ years of management expeerience & proven track record of shipping co=
mplex
enterprise software products that meet the highest levels of quality, scala=
bility & performance standards
=E2=80=A2 Strong technical skills with a background in developing & managin=
g teams designing complex enterprise and PC software architectures
=95 Familiarity with verrsion control tools and policies
=95 Experience withh JTAG, ICE, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, oscill=
oscopes and other embedded development tools
=95 EExperience in device driver development
=95 Experiennce in 8051, ColdFire, and/or ARM series processors
=95 Experience in PC SW/FW or System level architecturre
Desired
=95 Familiarity with embedded RTOS, suuch as Linux, WinCE, pSOS, VxWorks
=95 Familiarity wwith USB, PCIE, and/or SATA specifications, and direct fir=
mware development

What you'll be doing:
=E2=80=A2 Lead and Manage Platform Engineering in the following activities:
- Current and next generation micro architecture development
- Code branch development and maintenance
- Chip bring-up support in conjunction with core team
- Co-work with ASIC team in FPGA development and support
- Customer support and debug
- Develop embedded driver and applications
- Assist on applications and tools development
- Provide software expertise to test and debug ASIC
- Generate design documents
- Design and develop firmware for USB, PCIE and SATA devices
- Develop embedded driver and applications
=95 Establish a strong sofftware development model for ensuring consistent,=
 successful, on time and
high quality delivery
=95 Commmunicate with sales, marketing, business development and other part=
s of the company to
ensure the product meets their needs
=95 Negotiate and execute marketting and customer requirements and features
=95 Workk with the senior engineering leadership team to focus on broader o=
rganizational topics
like process improvements & people development
=95 Provide mentorshipp to individual contributors and managers
=95 Demonsstrate technical leadership and hands-on approach to all platform=
 activities listed above
