We?  Must?  

The best way I know to make sure that the Product will be able to evolve is
by making it evolve _now_.

Should it?  Customer knows what, Developer knows how.  Only teaming
together they can achieve the result.

Ooops..  How's that?  While I can _guess_ the NPV of financial investment,
I can hardly find a currency, let alone the NPV of design investment.  The
decision tree in the later case overwhelms me.
