Dale has offered and you have accepted some ways of describing events while being more clear about who does what. That was good advice that we could all benefit from. As a matter of information regarding my "misunderstanding", the paragraphs read to me as conclusions by you about programmers as a class. I had that impression from the first paragraph, and then when you elaborated it, it seemed to me to be underlining with more detail what /you/ felt about these people. I accept that in fact you were speaking about "some people's" impression, not your own, about "some programmers". I'm done with the topic. Thanks.
