Installing the software is how one writes the installation manual, is it not? How can one write the manual without installing the software?

Let's remember that we're Agile, too. How Agile are we if we can't even get the software running on an arbitrary machine in just a few minutes? A Customer often doesn't know he needs it until he needs it: demo, presentation, the CEO wants it...

It's like the other XP practices: *we* need it, even if the Customer doesn't. It helps us do our job better.
