Glen, No problem with your proposal at all. I think highly agile/iterative/evolutionary approaches have the benefit of allowing to get feedback early about "perceived value". This is not the same as "produced value" but it is certainly better than "imaginary value". But feedback should not only be in terms of development test results or user acceptance although this feedback is probably the easiest to obtain. When I look at my own work I have noticed that I do usually something like 70% of the work in the first half of the day. The value of what I do declines when I work longer and also the production declines so I guess there is a cumulative effect in terms of both quantity and quality. I also notice that doing some sports in my lunchbreak seems to have a very positive effect on my ability to concentrate and seems to offset that negative trend and that having a "big lunch" even makes it worse. Apart from all the good techniques to make the activities more agile, is there any aspect of personal well-being that we should involve in the discussions we have here? Any experience with this. Perhaps this is a change of thread, but I am interested. If the question is "How do we increase the value?" then perhaps we can look at non-technical issues as well.
